The issue in DA is most armor sets provide a bonus for specific situations, like extra resistance to fire or nature etc. But generally speaking stacking armor is just best all round for fights. The only set worth equipping IMO is Templar set for Alistair, plus his bonus as a Templar for magic Res, and he's basically immune to magic. What I had to do to get all the bonus crap to unlock was do most of what that guide mentioned to obtain all the DLC, then ALSO actually download the full Origin client, go to their game page for DA:O, and click umpteen boxes and jump through hoops to verify stuff was unlocked and active over on their system. #11.
